Matt Andersen-Miller, Principal

Matt Andersen-Miller is an accomplished architect who is committed to the idea that great spaces can transform the lives and work of the people who use them. He’s sought to fulfill that vision as a designer both in the public and private sector for more than 25 years. Andersen-Miller, a LEED-accredited architect, specializes in environmentally sustainable designs for institutions and individuals that strive to meet a client’s need for well-designed, quality environments while also promoting health for the inhabitants and the community at large. As the principal of Andersen-Miller Design, he leads a talented team that is currently designing seven charter schools in the New York City area. For Andersen-Miller, who was a member of the team of architects and engineers that produced a master plan for the Boston Public Schools, the design of educational facilities is a longtime passion. His work in the public sector also includes assignments with the Department of Neighborhood Development of the City of Boston, where he worked on affordable housing and special needs projects. In addition to his background as a designer, he brings extensive experience dealing with regulatory agencies and boards with jurisdiction over zoning and project design. Andersen-Miller, the son of a noted Los Angeles architect, is a graduate of the architecture program at the University of California at Berkeley and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He is the recipient of awards from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the City of Cambridge, Massachusetts; and his work has been featured in the Boston Globe, The Los Angeles Times and many other publications.
